Family Challenge Devotions

Attention: Moms and Dads Who Want Their Kids to Know God!!

If you can give your family an hour or two a week (or more if you choose :) ), you can watch your kids come to REALLY know their Heavenly Father while they watch you model a genuine relationship with Christ.

There are so many hard things our kids (and we!) face.  Kid’s have a lot to figure out as they learn about life every day. Some of our kids even have chronic health problems to face.   It’s a lot for kids, and it’s a lot for us parents too.  Afterall, our issues are much like our kids’ – just adult versioned.  BUT, we also carry the weight of loving and parenting a child who’s ill.   Our families’ every day lives can be a struggle.

So, dear parent, how do we do this?  How do we deal with the junk inside of us that parenting a sick child brings – fear, worry, anger.  How do we create the relationship we need to have with God – one where we truly know Him and are connected to Him in a way that helps us through every day?  How do we model a good relationship with our Father and help our children go beyond the Sunday School stories and live their lives with and for Jesus.

This is what we do:

  1. We build our own relationship with God by spending time with Him.  We let Christ in to our hearts to transform us so that we naturally share Him with our children.  He changes our actions, our thoughts, and the words we speak.
  2. We teach our children God’s Word and what it means for them in a way they can easily understand.

That’s what “Family Challenge Devotions” is all about!  You will change and grow, becoming the parent God created you to be :) .  Because your child will see the love of God flowing through you, they will have so much fun spending time with you, doing activities they’ll not only love, but activities that will help them really understand the message of the Bible.  You’ll also be building their faith.  They need a ROCK SOLID FAITH that can encourage and give them peace as they face tests, surgeries, and everything else that comes their way.

“Family Challenge Devotions” aren’t only for families with children who are sick.  Most devotions will fit any family, some may need a little tweeking.
