I was watching Christmas videos on YouTube this morning, and came across Third Day’s “Christmas Like A Child.” This song expresses beautifully why I’ve created “Filling Christmas with Christ”. It’s the kind of Christmas that I’m praying you have this year. No matter what our circumstances, Christmas should be a magical time filled with joy, laughter, and worship – filled with Christ.
“And He said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven,’” (Matthew 8:3). Knowing that we are God’s children, and He wants us to believe like children, shouldn’t we also experience Christmas as His child? I love that thought. It fills me with hope and excitement, while it takes weight off my shoulders.
Let’s make this an amazing, extra special Christmas. Let’s join the angels in singing and the kids in laughing, doesn’t that sound perfect?
Christmas shouldn’t be a time of stress and worry. Does that seem impossible to you? Do your fears seem too big to be able to get through so that you can enjoy Christmas as His child? Let God work through all of your fear and worry. Let God carry your load. Will you be able to hand that load over and give up those fears in just one day? Well, God does do great things, and, yes, He could bring you healing immediately. But, He may want you to hand your burden over one step at a time, one day at a time.
How do you do that? I have two recommendations for you. The first is my newest e-book “Filling Christmas with Christ: A Simple What to Trim and How to Seek Guide for an Extra Special Season“. With this little book, you will be able to plan and prepare for that beautiful, fun Christmas we all long for while you and your family draw closer to God. You will be encouraged to seek Christ, to draw near, and know Him better. Through these devotions you will find yourself opening your heart to Christ, longing for more of Him, preparing the way for Him to come and do great things. Then, I recommend “The Faith Challenge”. It will help you to look more deeply with God at your hurts and struggles as you get to know Him even more. You will be left with an amazing faith – the kind you need to walk this journey you are on. After these two books, you will know God well. You will be able to hand over your burdens in complete trust.
Just maybe this Christmas God wants you to be blessed with the gifts of faith and joy. (Actually, I’m sure He does – it’s what He wants for all His children no matter what time of year it is.)
